Inspector of Custodial Services

Review of training for staff and management in custodial centres

The Inspector of Custodial Services will consider whether the available staff training by Corrective Services NSW builds capacity in staff to perform their roles so as to be able to:

  • safely and humanely manage people in custody, with regard to their specific risks and needs,
  • conduct themselves and interact with management, staff and people in custody in an appropriate and professional way,
  • understand and meet legislative obligations.

The Inspector of Custodial Services will consider any other relevant matters in the course of this review
